Daniel works in policy development within the NSW mental health sector. Prior to this, Daniel was the Policy and Research Coordinator at LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA), the national peak body for LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing in Australia.
Earlier, Daniel had been actively involved in a range of LGBTIQ+ campaigns and advocacy activities, including as a member of the NSW Gay and Lesbian Right Lobby’s Policy Working Group, and volunteering for Australian Marriage Equality. This involved considerable engagement with community members at a local level.
In 2019, Daniel successfully won a homosexual vilification case at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, following a dispute with his neighbour that arose in November 2017, on the day that the marriage equality vote result was announced. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), Master of Politics and Public Policy, and Master of Research.
