On May 1st 2021 Tasmanians vote for our next Parliament.

Equality Tasmania has surveyed all parties and key independents on a range of issues important to the LGBTIQ+ community.

The responses we have received are below.

The issues we have asked about include:

• Banning conversion practices

• Prohibiting unnecessary medical interventions on intersex children

• Protecting the Anti-Discrimination Act and the state’s gender reforms

• Compensation for people convicted under former anti-LGBTIQ+ laws

• Reform of the Coroner’s Act so LGBTIQ+ partners are treated equally

• Better health and mental health services

• More inclusive schools

On Thursday April 22^nd from 6-8pm, Equality Tasmania will host an online LGBTIQ+ election form where you can hear from the candidates and quiz them about their policies. More information soon.
